I have my monitor brightness set on zero, and it's too bright!
Perhaps I'm just experiencing some sort of serious 'eye blowout', after all, I have been staring at it for 21 hours now.. still, this is unprecedented. It hasn't bothered me this much in the past, but I've always had it set to zero and wished that it was on -37.
I wonder if there is some way I can control the brightness in software too, given that the hardware is already as low as it can go? I've had to dim the contrast just so that I don't go blind! (although, perhaps it's too late, I've already got my glasses prescription, I'm just holding out on fulfillment for as long as possible.)

Guess you don't have an ATI card, they have alittle 'Monitor Brightness' slider in the advanced properties doohickey....you can also use a little Util called Powerstrip (http://www.entechtaiwan.net/ps.htm) which lets you do this for *most* cards
I have a RAGE XL PCI card. I don't have an AGP slot (my workstation is really a server).
I installed PowerStrip, and set up some profiles, etc. But when I try to change them they don't seem to make any difference.. :(
