Holy shit.
I just went to see The Ring 2.
Don't see it.
It's really fucked up.
Whats fucked up about it?
For one thing, they take a lot of 'cheap shots'. That is, they give you a sudden fright, and make it hard for you to guess exactly when they'll do it, so you jump all the time.
But mostly, it's all 'ethereal', suggestive type 'evil'. I don't like that, because I don't know how to 'fight it', and I certainly don't imagine I'd be able to cope with it like the lady in the movie. So it bothers me.
Basically it's a horrific brain fuck:
You have to kill your child to save him.
You have to suicide to return to life.
You have to ruin someone else to save yourself.
You have to trust mad people.
You have an evil, tortured soul who wants your love.
And those faces of the dead people..
The scenes that killed me were when she was climbing out of the well with that deformed creature clambering after her, and the one where she made the doped sandwich and sat on the couch eating with her possessed child, and the one where the doctor injected air in her brain, and the one where the water started floating on the roof.. actually, all of them. :P
Some of the 'bizarre' aspects of it made it even more haunting. Like how the mouse attacked the car. And so many 'cliché' climaxes turned into anti-climaxes that you didn't ever really know what to expect.
I dunno. I just don't dig horror movies. Especially not ones like this. I don't mind ones that are just 'violent' and somewhat twisted, like Saw, but this one fucks with your 'sanity' just a bit too much.

Alright! Sounds like a movie I'll love! I can't wait to see it now
Saw it last night Mini. I thought the ring 1 was more freaky as it didn't try and explain too much stuff-just let it happen
that deformed creature racing up the well was mad though!
I haven't seen the first one.
...and I'm not gonna! ;)
