blog.jj5.net turns one today.
Yay, Happy Birthday! :)
Unfortunate timing re the death of your friend (condolences, mate), but still -- the fact that a year's worth of what we call "time" has "passed" since your first post is worth celebrating a bit.
My app is almost done, by the way. I've been using VS 2005, and it's sweet when it works. I can't really leverage any of the BCL 2.0 stuff, though, since I'm deploying against 1.1. Too bad -- generics would be very useful.
Stuart, did you just use the term 'leverage'? Because it looks suspiciously like you did. The word you're looking for is 'use'. Trust me. :)
I haven't seen VS2005 yet. I spent an hour or two on the weekend writing a basic parser and document model. In the end, I just used ArrayList. :P ( I couldn't bring myself to do all the typing required for strong typed collections. CodeSmith can do that though. )
YAGNI, YAGNI, YAGNI! :)
Haha; yeah, "leverage" -- too much time spent with the marketing slicks, I suppose. But you are correct... "use". :P
However, IAGNI! I think it's decent, too. I'll show you later.
