That's what my computer says when I try to run notepad. In fact, I had to type this message from another computer, because it says pretty much the same thing to matter what I try to run. That is, I couldn't even copy and paste the error message into another application, because pbrush, or iexplore won't run either. Instances of IE that are already running won't render a new web page. I have no idea why. I can barely even begin to guess. Graphics drivers? Hard disk corruption? OS flaw? System configuration or DLL alteration / mis-registration?
Who knows.
All I know is that this is my primary development box, that I've deliberately gone out of my way to make sure the absolute minimum of *shit* gets installed on it, so that it stays fast and works well.
For a minute there I thought I might literally cry.
Presently I'm considering the benefits of crawling onto the floor, assuming the fetal position and whimpering.
I really don't have the time to repave this machine. But the way it's been behaving, I wonder how much longer I can hold out.
Anyway, going now. Either I'll switch back to my other workstation, reboot, reload my apps, try to remember the 30 things that I was doing and hope to get in a few hours work before I'm forced to reboot again, or I'll pursue the fetal position option. Unsure yet, if I had to guess I'd say there's a 50/50 chance I'll go either way..
