So my hard disk failed yesterday.
That was 'bad news', and worthy of complaint.
However! there is some 'good news'.
The new drive that I've installed to replace it is *way* faster. It's also *way* bigger.
In general, now I'm just a happy camper.
There is a noticeable difference in the performance of Explorer and VS.NET in accessing the drive, which has 10s of 1000s of source files, not to mention those huge debugging symbols.
Ah, life is good.

p.s. It was also nice to know that my backup process, clunky as it may be, meant that I didn't lose anything! Lucky for me too, otherwise I would have had to commit Hari Kiri this morning... :/
