I was reading this morning.
Then I wrote about 3 pages of waffle.
I had a lot of trouble expressing myself.
Then I read some more.
In short, things are a big mess, but all is not lost.
I think we need a system of government that acknowledges our significant technological advances that can enable greater societal participation in democratic process.
We could be so much *more* democratic, and we should be.
John.
p.s. It really bothered me (like “I'm going to lose hours of my life dwelling on it“) that when Margo Kingston quoted Robert Menzies in her book Not Happy, John! that she used the spelling 'realize'. I even went to her website with the intention of complaining about it, but I decided that it didn't meet the 'legitimacy' criteria. It does bother me though. It seems we can't do anything without being *infected* by the USA. That's a big problem for me, because I am not involved in their (alleged) democratic process. (Yes, my concerns do actually transcend spelling)
