Why is everything always in the second draw?
I moved around a lot when I was a kid (I've averaged one house every two years over my life) and for a little while there I remember that the second drawer became the third drawer. Not sure why, maybe a cutlery tray was built in to the second drawer or something. It's always been called the 'second drawer' though.
The second drawer is a concept.
It doesn't matter which draw it actually is.
